This years Weightlifting Ireland Leinster Open Championships was hosted and run by CFI Weightlifting Club! We were delighted to be able to host this event and it turned out to be one of the biggest Weightlifting Ireland competitions in a number of years with over 95 people entered to compete over the course of the two days.
Of the 95 entries Team CFI had 17 athletes competing! Some coming back to the platform after some time away from competing and some just starting their weightlifting journey competing for the first time ever. We couldn’t be prouder of all our athletes and the medal tally was quiet impressive at the end of the weekend.
The weekend wouldn’t have been such a huge success without the support and help of ALL our community and members at CFI as weightlifting events in Ireland are run by volunteers. Our club, just getting into it’s stride and relatively new turned out in force to help load, set up, clean up and support all the CFI Weightlifting Club athletes who competed. We couldn’t be more proud of the community and team spirit we have cultivated at CFI! Thank you all for your help and support, it was and is greatly appreciated.
