What Exactly is CrossFit? Part I

What is CrossFit and how can it help you reach your goals?

CrossFit uses Functional Movement.

What is Functional Movement? Functional movement is any time we use our whole body or a large number of muscles to move ourselves or a load. Think of a squat instead of a leg press.

Why does this help me?

  • You get to exercise a lot of muscles in one go
  • These are natural movements like sitting and standing, picking up your groceries or kids, etc.
  • They deliver a bigger “bang for your buck” which means you can get more out of a shorter session.
