Weightlifting

Where did my barbell go?

Feel where the barbell and body are in space.

Struggling to find out where should you feel tension in your starting position?

If your starting position is that comfortable that you can sit there all day, then it’s not the right one. Starting position should feel uncomfortable! Your back should be tight, your legs should have tension, shoulders covering the bar and balance should be in the middle of your foot.

We at CFI usually use the cue that: your starting position is as “comfortable” as you feel when you are doing a back/front squat and you have to pause at the bottom.
