🍎In nature we get a lot of foods that are high in carbohydrate. Fruit and some vegetables fall into this category.
(When CrossFit talks about getting “off the couch and off the carbs” we don’t mean eliminating all carbohydrates, but reducing excessive processed carbohydrates, like High Fructose Corn Syrup)
🥜In nature we also get a lot of foods that are high in fat. Meat and nuts for example.
What we don’t have in nature, but do in modern food production, is food that is both high in carbs and high in fat. This causes havoc for our hormones and our waistline. That super addictive chocolate bar is a great example 🍫
The general guidelines we have for nutrition are:
Eat Real Food
Not Too Much
No one has ever over eaten brocolli 🥦
