What are Midterms?

We program for The Open as we believe it’s the best test of whether our programming is helping us reach a well rounded, inclusive, fitness.

Repeating The Open in August gives us a good pulse check on how we’re doing halfway through the training year.

Sometimes we do better, sometimes we don’t on these tests. And lots of factors are at play – judging, the hype of The Open (or lack thereof in August), have we been on holiday, what our training has been like the last few months, etc.

What it does give us is some useful feedback of where to direct our training and renew on focus for the upcoming months.
