Colm O’Reilly


Colm has always been an athlete and a coach since the age of 16, but in finding CrossFit in 2007, he is one of the most experienced CrossFit coaches in Europe. After an MMA friend told him about how CrossFit increased his strength and endurance, Colm took his first workout from the original CrossFit “dot com” site which had him feeling the potency within 2 minutes. (The workout “Cindy” is a 20-minute burner!) At the time, there were very few CrossFit gyms in all of Europe and definitely, none in Colm’s area, so his first visit to a CrossFit “box”–our lingo for “gym”–was on holiday to England. He immediately booked his Level 1 and soon applied for affiliation to open CrossFit Ireland.

Colm has taken his 500 square foot box to what CrossFit Ireland is today. He’s coached Games athletes and American Open athletes. But he takes the most pride in making this potent fitness methodology fun and workable for anyone. His goal as a coach is to help his members discover confidence and a belief in their abilities.

Colm thanks his friend who turned him onto CrossFit for betting him an ice cream that he would never open his own gym and wants him to know that was the best bet he’s ever made. (It was delicious, too.)

Derek Davis


Derek spent 15 years in a career in Information Technology but finding a true passion in CrossFit, he took a leap of faith to coaching. Derek started CrossFit in 2009. And although he always strength trained to some degree, his first workout that included burpees and overhead lunges showed him just how much room there was for improvement in his fitness.

Derek’s CrossFit journey is constantly evolving and he’s discovered a love for weightlifting. He has lifted in Leinster and national level competitions.

As a coach, he relates his experience as a typical office 9-5’er and applies what he’s experienced in the past in trying to achieve ideal fitness. He’s passionate about helping people grow in confidence as they discover that their bodies are capable of far more than they realised, no matter where they’re starting on their road to fitness.

Sam Stewart

Speciality Coach (Competition)

Sam started his athletic career with martial arts at age 12. In transition year, Sam joined CrossFit Ireland for work experience and quickly impressed the staff with his positive attitude and desire to do the right thing. Sam continued training with CrossFit Ireland since then and has grown as an athlete and leader of the team.

Sam has represented Ireland in Olympic Weightlifting, alongside leading the competitive team of CFI in the sport side of CrossFit.

Sam is a top notch motivator and his mission is to really see everyone succeed way past their expectations.

Seán Brown

Weightlifting Speciality Coach

Seán has been in the fitness industry for nearly a decade now working with people of all athletic backgrounds from elite level athletes to complete beginners. He has played sports all his life including rugby, gymnastics, Gaelic football, soccer and golf to a high standard. Holding a Bachelors in Science (BSC) degree in Sports Performance & Coaching along with CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting qualifications he has a depth of knowledge at his disposal to help any level athlete achieve their fitness and health goals.

Seán is a competitive Olympic weightlifter, currently ranked number one male in Ireland. He has competed internationally at the U23 European Championships in 2014 and the World Championships and European Championships in 2017. He holds multiple national records also in the -85kg weight class.
