We’ve done great. We have a gym we’re proud of, with kickass athletes making amazing progress. Not just in their physical fitness, but the friendships and mental/emotional growth we as a team have shared is mind blowing when you step back from the day to day challenges.
We want this to continue to grow. Both in the size of the team and the impact we can all have on people’s lives. We’re two years in with the “new” CFI. We’ve come a long way. And we’ve a lot we still want to accomplish.
They say do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life. Like most cliches, this is an oversimplification. If you’re constantly jumping early in the snatch, simply putting more work in and trying harder isn’t the answer. Sure, you’ll make progress, but not as much as with a coach.
So hire a coach we did. We’ve been listening to the Two-Brain podcast from last year, and everything said on it made sense. So we decided to sign up to their mentoring process, and have just completed the Incubator phase.
During this phase we’ve really examined everything we do, and most importantly why we do it. We care about each and every person who walks through our doors. But we need to make sure that there’s consistency in that caring, because that’s the right way to do it. So this involves detailing the roles and tasks that go into everything we do, not just the on the floor coaching. Otherwise, things slip through the cracks. A simple example is making sure everyone gets a check in text after their first session, as we all know what a shock to the system your first metcon can be! Without putting everything in place, and making sure we’ve the right people to service you.
At the end of the day the why behind all of this is very simple. We’re compelled to repay all those who’ve put their faith in us. You all deserve the absolute best CFI. Our investors deserve to see their venture come to fruition. Everyone who supported us emotionally along the way to get here deserve to see that faith in us rewarded. All the athletes that left their place of training and made the leap with us deserve the best, and for us to help them reach and surpass all their health and happiness goals.
