Perfectionism isn’t a bad thing. In fact, there’s good and bad versions of it.
Maladaptive perfectionism = NEVER ENOUGH. This is someone who overtrains, often to the point of burnout or injury.
Adaptive perfectionism = NEVER SATISFIED. This is someone who looks at areas to improve and creates a plan to improve them.
Maladaptive looks at failure as fatal, and very often gives up. Adaptive looks at failure as feedback, makes the necessary adjustments, and continues on. They know the path to success will have ups and downs.
